Research Assistant Position with Computer Programming Experience

DescriptionDr. Roberts is seeking an undergraduate research assistant for the Fall 2013 semester to support a study investigating the impact of classical conditioning on attitudes and behavior. The study requires a web-based program that collects and stores responses and reaction times to a cognitive task over a series of sessions.
QualificationsThe ideal applicant is an undergraduate who is highly reliable, works well in teams and independently. There is also an opportunity to earn two to three course credits (3-6 hours per week) for your research activity (via PSYC 479) - but we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis. To be considered you must be proficient with all of the following:
- JavaScript (creating functionality that responds to user input and records user behavior)
- HTML & CSS (basic, image-based layouts)
- SQL (storing and retrieving user behavior)
- PHP - (taking user input and preparing it for storage into the database using SQL)
Preferred (but not necessarily required):
- Experience developing both front-and and back-end for web applications
- Experience setting up and maintaing a database
- Related coursework (e.g., CMSC 424, 435 and 434)
