Dr. Brem Discusses If There Is Link Among Phillies Brain Cancer Cases

Steven Brem, MD, professor of Neurosurgery and director of Neurosurgical Oncology, is quoted in an NBC10 segment discussing the case of several Phillies players who have had brain cancer, including, most recently, Darren Daulton, who was diagnosed this month with glioblastoma.
Although Daulton and other former Major League Baseball players all received the same diagnosis, “the chances are better than they were in Tug’s (McGraw) day because there are new treatments, ways to starve tumors of blood vessels, blood supply, better surgery, more advanced computer-driven surgery,” Brem said.
