Job Details: The School of Nursing/Family & Community Health Nursing is seeking a Research Project Coordinator. The selected candidate will independently coordinate day-to-day operations. Serves as a point of contact for study participants and office or clinical support personnel. Is responsible for effective operations and use of resources, rather than clinical outcomes. The Coordinator is needed for a 5 year NIH funded research study that will examine how factors, such as stress and impulsive behavior, may increase risks for drug addiction by altering brain neurochemistry and responses to drugs of abuse in humans. Methods include psychological assessments, human laboratory behavioral performance tasks, and brain imaging. Study sites include the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES: Responsible for advertising, recruitment, and screening of potential research subjects; managing subject flow through the study, coordination of activities and procedures; recruitment tracking, evaluation, and reporting; conducting informed consents; SCID psychiatric diagnostic screening interviews; administration of psychological measurement instruments; writing standard operating; procedures; monitoring protocol compliance; purchasing supplies, budget management in conjunction with PI and Research Administrator; organization and maintenance of research files, manuals, logs, and other records; data management and basic statistical analyses; assisting with regulatory documentation and reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bacherlor's degree in a related field (Master's degree in psychology or social work preferred).
-1 year prior experience in a clinical research environment. -Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
-Knowledge and/or experience with psychiatric diagnostic criteria highly desirable.
-Experience with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and SPSS a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of best practice in Clinical Research. Ability to gain Job Opportunities knowledge and meet the reporting needs of UMB policies and practices for Institutional Review, Human Protections, Animal Protections and other the like. Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people both internally and externally. Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes. Skill in relevant PC applications.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience
