Penn Neurosurgery Participates in Philadelphia’s Race for Hope

Thousands turned out for the 7th annual Race for Hope Sunday, November 4 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The crowd braved the sunny but brisk weather to cheer on the runners and participate in the day’s activities. Many, like the Cerquetelli family, represented their personal stories of support through brightly colored signs, t-shirts and pins.

Penn Neurosurgery’s team, the Penn Pioneers, raised over $20,000 from hundreds of donors and received the Race for Hope – Philadelphia Top Company Team award. Overall, event donations totaled over $850,000.  Funds raised help to direct promising research, advocate for change and support families coping with a brain tumor diagnosis.

Penn Medicine thanks those who joined Penn Neurosurgery staff in participating, giving generously or simply attending the day’s festivities in support of brain tumor research and awareness! For all those who participated, your efforts make a difference and contribute to a day without brain tumors.
