Kehila Chadasha, an independent cooperative community, runs a progressive religious school that meets on Sunday at BCC High School in Bethesda, Maryland, two blocks from the Bethesda Metro station on the Red Line. The Sunday school serves students in kindergarten through seventh grade, and runs a Jewish leadership training program (“Machon”) for eighth through tenth graders. Classes for students up to their mitzvah year are divided into Hebrew, Judaics, and related Jewish religious and cultural activities.

The job is part time and approximately 5 hours a week. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include full membership in Kehila Chadasha, which includes High Holiday tickets.

Kehila Chadasha seeks teachers, preferably with experience teaching Hebrew and Judaics. Classes meet on Sunday mornings, 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., September through June. They especially value creative and experiential classroom approaches. Warmth, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
