Description: Assessment, Educational and Research Experts (AERE), LLC is
seeking a motivated, independent, organized, solution-oriented and client-focused part-time intern to join our team. Our small organization is a group of experienced experts who provide various services in the assessment, education, and research fields. One of AERE’s core competencies is developing credentialing, clinical, aptitude, employment testing, and assessment solutions for clients. AERE also provides educational and instructional design and delivery services. Finally, organizations have used AERE for unique research services which range from qualitative and quantitative approaches using various data collection methods including literature reviews, web research, survey research, interviews, focus groups, and other data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities: The Research Associate Intern will have an opportunity to:
-Customize their program to their interests and career pursuits at AERE
-Be exposed to psychometrics, evaluation, research methodology, quantitative statistics, data collection methods, education and instructional design and delivery models, consulting, business development, and marketing.
-Gain an in-depth knowledge in any of these areas during a year-long internship (Jan 2016 - Jan 2017).
-Co-authoring various publications such as AERE’s One Pagers
-Participating and preparing for client meetings
-Attending and possibly presenting at industry conferences and workshops with leading professionals
Requirements:
The internship requires at least one face-to-face meeting every two weeks which will include training and project work. In between these meetings, the intern will be expected to work virtually. It is estimated that the initial time commitment will be a minimum of 4 to 8 hours a week. As the internship progresses, the intern will be able to work more independent and virtually. AERE understands this is an internship and a balance of life with a priority on school work and will schedule time to honor the intern’s priorities.
Qualifications:
• Major in Psychology, Sociology, Business, Marketing, Statistics, Data Science or related field
• Competent writing and presentation skills
• Competent social skills especially to interact with staff and clients
• Strong interest in assessment. education, and research
• Client-centered, solution-focused, and practicing the practical
