Description:
Camp STAR is an evidence-based, therapeutic Summer Treatment Program (STP) developed by Dr. Pelham to help children with ADHD and related disorders, ages 6-12, learn to manage behavioral, emotional, social, and learning issues. The STP provides treatment tailored to children's individual behavioral and learning difficulties. The STP was named as a Model Program for Service Delivery for Child and Family Mental Health by the Section on Clinical Child Psychology and Division of Child, Youth, and Family Services of the American Psychological Association. The STP has also been used in clinical trials conducted under the auspices of the National Institute of Mental Health, has been named a Model Program in Child and Family Mental Health by the American Psychological Association and SAMHSA, and has been named a program of the year by CHADD.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Receive extensive training in behavior modification and social skills training
- Gain clinical experience with children with ADHD, oppositional/conduct disorders, aggression, learning issues and social challenges
- Participate in daily supervision with expert clinical psychologists
- Assist in on-site research studies on topics related to ADHD
- Earn recommendations for work and graduate school
- A strong academic background in Psychology, Education, Medicine, or other fields that involve working with children with behavioral and/or developmental issues
- An understanding or previous experience executing behavior modification and/or classroom instruction
- A willingness and ability to learn and implement a highly structured and intensive treatment program
- Experience and interest in working with children, especially those with behavioral and social needs, in recreational, classroom or other settings
- Sports knowledge (basketball, softball, soccer, kickball and swimming) AND the ability to plan and lead skill drills and games (coaching experience is a plus!)
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive attitudes!
