PhD Opportunity at the University of Miami in Interdisciplinary Decision Making The Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy at the University of Miami seeks applicants for a PhD fellowship. The program draws on insights from economics, psychology, and neuroscience to examine decision making in real-world domains, with an emphasis on environment.
The position begins in August 2016 and includes a competitive stipend, benefits, and tuition remission for up to 5 years, assuming satisfactory completion of all academic requirements.
Requirements: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, economics, business, computer sciences, physics, biology, ecology) is preferred. Previous experience or interest in eye-tracking, and modeling, programming, and data analysis skills (e.g., MATLAB, R, SPSS) are helpful. The position is heavily-research oriented, with minimal teaching assistant requirements.
Working at the University of Miami: The Abess Center's Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Policy program enables students to tap into synergistic research networks across a range of schools and colleges at the University of Miami, including the School of Business, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, the Miller School of Medicine, the School of Law, School of Communication, and the College of Engineering. Current and past researchers working with this initiative have backgrounds in psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, economics, business, neuroscience, biology, physics, and computer science.
