Psychology Dept: Two Monetary Awards for Top Two Essays & Pizza Dinner for Top Five Essays
If your essay for the AETL’s contest is about an exceptional learning experience within psychology, please email a copy of your essay to
[email protected] (in addition to submitting your essay to AETL using the link below). The Office of Undergraduate Studies in Psychology will select the top two essays to receive a monetary award ($50 each). In addition, the top 5 essay writers will be invited to a pizza dinner and discussion of exceptional learning experiences in psychology.
The deadline for submission is March 1. The essay requirements are identical to that of the AETL guidelines listed below.
Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning: Three Monetary Awards for Top Three Essays Have you had learning experiences at UMD that were memorable and meaningful, as well as challenging, inspirational, and creative? If so, the UMD Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (AETL) would like to hear from you about them. We invite you to submit an essay (no more than 1,000 words, double spaced) sharing the exceptional learning experience that you had. The top three essays, as judged by AETL, will receive a monetary award (1st place: $500, 2nd place: $250, 3rd place: $100). The award winners will also be invited for a panel discussion with AETL members about the characteristics of memorable teaching and learning moments. All currently enrolled undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
