VP Biden Says Son Underwent Successful Procedure
|
Donald O' Rourke, MD |
Donald O'Rourke, MD, associate professor of Neurosurgery, speaks with
CBS3 regarding Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden's continuing medical issues.
While Dr. O'Rourke is not involved in Biden's case, he notes that "with his history of stroke, they'd be most likely looking at the arteries in the brain and neck. Whether its a new stroke, a mass of some sort, or whether there's no structural abnormality in the brain, that would all be identified first with the gold standard which is an MRI scan. When any kind of neurological symptom occurs, you would do best to do a very thorough investigation," said O'Rourke.
