Send Silence Packing this Friday, November 18

Active Minds at the University of Maryland is kicking off the 8th Annual National Mental Health on Campus Conference with Send Silence Packing. Come see the display at Hornbake Plaza from 10 am-3 pm on Friday, November 18. Send Silence Packing is an award winning program by Active Minds Inc. to promote dialogue about mental health issues on campus and to combat the incidence of student suicide. Send Silence Packing is an exhibit of 1,100 backpacks representing the number of college student lives lost to suicide each year. Active Minds Inc. has collected and continues to collect backpacks and personal stories in memory or in honor of loved ones impacted by suicide. Help show support for UMD's Chapter of Active Minds who is hosting this weekend's conference, by coming out to see the display!
