Research volunteer positions with Inova Fairfax Hospital!


The Department of Pediatrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children in Northern Virginia are looking for a research volunteers to assess the neuropsychological development of preschool and school aged survivors of preterm birth with the PETIT Study. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in neuropsychology, child development, and/or clinical psychology! A variety of positions are available for graduates, undergraduates, and those seeking externships.

Responsibilities:
-Administering neuropsychological assessments to young children
-Scoring assessments
-Writing brief neurocognitive reports for parents
-Testing four children a month, approximately 20-30 hours
-One year commitment
-Morning availability for weekday and weekend testing, afternoon appointments on weekends optional 
These positions include responsibilities associated with the research project.

Qualifications:
-Graduate or Undergraduate students
-Training in test administration for the study will be provided so while experience testing young children is preferable, a lack of such experience will not exclude one from this opportunity
-Extreme attention to detail

These positions also offer the unique opportunity for authorship on journal publications and to author posters at neuropsychological conferences, and to work with Ida Sue Baron, Ph.D., ABPP-CN (www.isbaron.com), Director of Neuropsychology. Graduate students will also have the opportunity to use this position as a means to create and complete your thesis papers.
