Research Assistant Positions with the Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Program (CAIP)
The Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Program (CAIP), directed by Dr. Andres De Los Reyes, is conducting community based study on parent/child relationships, conflict, parental monitoring and delinquent behavior in families with adolescent and pre-adolescent children. They are looking for undergraduate research volunteers for this fall.
Current Study: Community based study on parent/child relationships, conflict, parental monitoring and delinquent behavior in families with adolescent and pre-adolescent children.
Duties Include: (1) Recruiting and assisting in the completion of assessments for the study(e.g., Explaining study to participants, supervising their completion of assessments, conducting interviews and administering tasks on the computer). (2) Managing data collection (entering data using statistical software). (3) Assisting with administrative duties at CAIP
Meetings: Volunteers will have weekly meetings with Dr. Andres De Los Reyes (Director of CAIP) and weekly meetings with the graduate students who are coordinating the projects.
Skills: Volunteers will be trained on tasks related to the study. We expect volunteers to commit to two consecutive semesters of service. This commitment will consist of a minimum of 9 hours a week of volunteer work. With the exception of religious observances, we expect volunteers to commit to assisting on weekend assessments. With the exception of religious observances, we weigh heavily weekend availability in deciding among volunteer applicants.
