Multiple Psychopathology Research Assistant Positions
Rutgers UniversityDescription:The Division of Schizophrenia Research at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey is seeking to hire four post-baccalaureate Research Assistants for new state and federally funded research projects. Project topics include (1) the prevention of the development of substance use disorders in conduct disordered, at-risk youth, (2) validating new methods to evaluate neurocognitive abilities of adult patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, (3) assessing the stability of perceptual deficits in people diagnosed with schizophrenia across changes in illness phase (e.g., acute, stable, relapse, etc.), (4) identifying the neural correlates of various cognitive and perceptual difficulties in patients with psychotic disorders, (5) determining which individual and contextual variables significantly contribute to the perpetration of violent behavior in adults diagnosed with schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions, and (6) evaluating the effectiveness of non-traditional methods of delivering psycho-educational and skills training services to the families of people diagnosed with psychotic disorders.
Qualifications/Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology or a related field, and experience conducting psychological research. Experience conducting research with adults or children with some form of mental illness is preferred. Position tenure is expected to be at least two years. Full-time and part-time positions are available and a Research Assistant’s effort may span multiple studies.
