NBC10 reports on a Penn Neurosurgery patient who was transferred from a hospital in Kentucky after a motorcycle accident broke his spine and paralyzed him. An "all-star" team of surgeons and nurses, led by William Welch, MD, vice chair of Neurosurgery, and James Schuster, MD, PhD, associate professor of Neurosurgery, were able to reset the catastrophic injury, located right behind the heart and near the aorta.
