The program is interdisciplinary, bringing in students with backgrounds in math and computer science, the physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It is a two-year master of science program, and by the end you will learn a wide range of skills:
- User interface design and testing (how to create good ways for people to use technology and how to prove that they are good)
- Information visualization (like info-graphics taken to a whole new level)

The master's degree program is in the College of Information Studies (in Hornbake), and the students are part of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL). Learn more from the HCIL's website at http://hcil.cs.umd.edu/
