Duke University Infant Cognition Lab
Description:
The goal of this internship is to provide hands-on research experience to students interested in pursuing graduate work in Cognitive Development or a related field. The lab utilizes a variety of behavioral paradigms with infants and children as well as the ERP technique and fMRI to investigate early understanding of number and quantitative reasoning in human infants. Successful applicants will be paired with a graduate student or post-doc mentor and will have the opportunity to collaborate on a variety of ongoing and new projects. The internships are unpaid and require a commitment of between 20-30 hours/week for 8-10 weeks between the end of May and mid-August, 2013.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with all aspects of cognitive development experimentation
-Recruit subjects
-Code videos
-Analyze data
-Work on specific projects
-Present empirical papers
Qualifications:
-Coursework in Developmental Psychology
-Experience with computers and Microsoft Office (programming skills are desirable)
-Work experience with children and infants
