Congratulations to 2013 Penn Neurosurgery Chief Residents
This past weekend, Dr. Sean Grady hosted Penn Neurosurgery’s annual Hail and Farewell event to celebrate the achievements of its chief residents. Penn Neurosurgery is proud to announce that
Bradley C. Lega, MD,
Matthew Sanborn, MD and
Robert G. Whitmore, MD have all completed their residency at Penn Medicine.
Just three individuals per year are accepted into Penn’s prestigious seven-year neurosurgery program, where the core mission is the training of future academic neurosurgeons. At the completion of the program residents are expected to be outstanding clinicians, active investigators and experienced educators.
- Matt Sanborn, MD, who graduated from Georgetown University School of Medical, has accepted a one-year fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery with the Barrows Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Upon completion, he will take a position at the Maine Medical Center.
- Bradley C. Lega, MD, a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, is headed to Cleveland Clinic for a one-year fellowship, focusing on epilepsy surgery. He will then decide on where to begin his career, possibly at UT Southwestern in Dallas, back in his home state of Texas.
- Robert G.Whitmore, MD, a Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania graduate, has accepted a position at the Lahey Clinic, nonprofit teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine, located in Massachusetts.
Congratulations to Dr. Bradley, Dr. Sanborn and Dr. Whitmore.
